Belgium is not only known for their Belgian beer, or diamonds. It is also known for their chocolates as well. History reveals that Pralines were invented by Neuhaus in Belgium in 1912. The chocolate bar was also invented in Belgium, as well as some new ways of processing chocolate. Hence, a trip to Belgium will never be complete without visiting chocolate factories. And so I stopped by The Chocolate Line while I in Antwerp – considered as one of the best chocolate shops in Europe. It is currently being ran by Dominique Persoone, who is a considered to be a legend in Europe because of his creativity and innovation.

The sweet smell of chocolate smothered me in a very good way as soon as I entered the shop. And I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was like being in chocolate heaven! The place is  classy and elegant with interior designs and all the beautiful chocolate displays. So many varieties to choose from – lavender, chili, berries, grapes and so much more await your palate. They have huge displays all over the place. You can also see the process of making chocolate at the factory. The shop and and factory are housed in the kitchen area of a former palace where Napoleon lived. How cool is that, huh? The Chocolate Line is just gorgeously delish.

Needless to say, I was entertained by it all. Seeing the creative and delicious chocolates around – they even had a giant frog with the most kissable lips that you’d want to eat, and a chocolate Santa Claus and his elves being made, ha! The chocolates I’ve tried were so good that I brought home a bunch!

Overall Verdict: Delicious chocolates. Very flavorful and fun!
