So I Finally Started My Blog… What’s The Outbounder all about?

It hurts me to write this. It feels terrifying and exciting at the same time… Overthinking if people will read about what I have to write, or will they think it’s just one of those same old sh*t they have read before? I don’t know if there’s a perfect way to write your first blog post… and if there is a perfect way and I’m not doing it... Well, let’s just say I don’t always conform to all the pressures and norms. So, if you’re still reading this, I take it that you find this article interesting enough, ha! And if you’re leaving right about now, you probably think I bored the hell out of you. Oh well, I can’t please everybody, can I?

I have always loved the idea of blogging. For several years, I have contemplated having my own blog. But that never came to life because of my hectic work schedule… back-to-back traveling, deadlines on projects, you know the drill. So yeah, I’m a little bit late to the party! But better late than never...

So I suddenly had this burst of desire and energy to finally sit down and make it happen. What should I be writing about, you might ask? These things came to mind:

traveling IS MY VICE…

I know there are thousands of travel bloggers out there, and while I may not have danced with the wolves in Mongolia, I will not be sitting pretty in Waikiki Beach with professional photographers following me around to capture that perfect moment either. No, that will not be my style. I intend to keep this VERY REAL AND RAW. No fancy photographers with fancy lighting. No fancy wardrobe, hairstyles or makeup. Completely un-staged - just me and my camera, sharing you photos and experiences I took with me from every journey. And I could care less if any of my videos will be a bit shaky. This is as real as it gets!

"One's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things.” - Henry Miller

Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and I believe it has molded me into a better person. One of the main reasons why I finally decided to start my blog, is to show you the world the way I see it.

This is all about capturing every scene, every moment through photography.

I am no pro when it comes to photography but I LOVE snapping photos. And coming from the creative field and having worked with photography and video staff for photo shoots and video commercial projects I've worked on, let’s just say I have some ideas.

This section will showcase my top shots in hopes to inspire and encourage you to visit places.

I will also be sharing some tips and how-tos, such as how to not be a jerk while traveling (LOL, just kidding!)

All of these are from my own experiences, no marketing agenda here, just everything I’ve learned. If I endorse a particular product or service, I can assure you, they are not paying me to do so. I will always be transparent when it comes to endorsements, if there are any.

Food exploration is one of the most fun parts of my travels. It is a way of getting to know more about the country and culture, history and its people.

Whenever I travel, I am all up for trying different food from local restaurants, and shops - whether it’s fine dining, casual or just munching on some street food around the corner. And I have tried so many good food, from different cities around the globe.

In addition to my food exploration while traveling, I might every now and then share some exotic food, and Filipino dishes that I grew up eating. I was born and raised in the Philippines and I have to say that Filipino cuisines are still so underrated, even in so many cities here in the United States. I would like to take this opportunity to share how delicious and unique Filipino cuisines are, and hope you’ll appreciate them as you make these dishes with me in your home.

Sharing raves and reviews about the places I’ve stayed over the years of traveling - from renting condos, bed and breakfast, to hotels.

I have indulged staying at some of the most luxurious five-star hotels all over the globe, but I also get smart most of the time in terms of finding just the right place to call my second home away from home – with the right budget in mind. It is important for me to have a comfortable place to stay to make my travel experience more enjoyable. It does not have to be a luxury stay, but a comfortable stay with friendly staff and excellent services can make a difference. I hope to be able to share with you some of the best places to stay.

So that's The Outbounder in a nutshell. I hope I didn't bore you, and that you'll stick around!
